The Alchemist features themes of adventure, searching and spirituality. It follows Santiago, a Middle-Eastern boy, on his journey to find treasure. Along the way, he learns an important lesson about intuition and listening to the language of the world.
The book design represents Santiago following his heart and ultimately finding the treasure he sought after. Hands pointing up, left and right are reminiscent of a compass. The canvas is soft but also rugged, a texture that symbolizes a travel sack and wants to be held.
