Mural Row

Isabella is one of six artists hired to develop a diptych for Mural Row, located on a pedestrian path between Market Street and JFK, just east of 31st Street.

Mural Row drew inspiration from the iconic local saying: “West is best”. This theme encouraged artists to create two murals each showing all the positive aspects of the work and life taking place in this pocket of the city.

“The importance of preserving West Philly’s original culture and character in a rapidly developing environment is not lost on me. My greatest hope for these murals is that lifelong West Philadelphians can look at them and feel accurately and joyfully represented.”

This mural process started at home, where 8 parachute cloths were hand-painted and then manually applied to aluminum panels on the wall of the site.
